MBAPPE DEPARTURE.
ALL HAIL A NEW KING?
Whether you hate him, believe in football media, or are cautiously optimistic, it appears that there is a reason for optimism that Kylian Mbappe Lottin will be a forward at Real Madrid. As first reported in January by Santi Aouma (and now confirmed by Fabrice Hawkins at RMC, Julien Laurens at ESPN, Fabrizio Romano, MARCA, AS, David Ornstein at the Athletic, and others), Kylian Mbappe is leaving PSG and has communicated his departure to Al-Khelaifi.
Is This Time Different?
As many people have noted, similar news broke in 2022 when Kylian Mbappe ultimately chose to stay at PSG. Could this time be different?
HE IS A BEAST:
The 25-year-old French forward has been one of the most prolific and exciting players in Europe, scoring 243 goals in 290 appearances for PSG and helping them win five Ligue 1 titles and three French Cups. He also played a key role in France’s 2018 World Cup triumph, winning the Best Young Player award.
However, Mbappe has also faced criticism for his lack of success in the Champions League, where PSG have failed to win the ultimate prize. That is where Real Madrid — prolific winners — come in.
Mbappe’s departure will leave a huge void in PSG’s attack. PSG manager Luis Enrique was, unsurprisingly, asked about the situation in his press conference today.
Kylian Mbappé has also informed his teammates at PSG about his decision to leave the club as free agent in the summer.
It happened during today’s training session by direct speech made by Kylian to inform them, as per RMC.
Mbappé didn’t mention his future club to them or Real Madrid move, he just confirmed that he’s set to leave.
Anyway, in both Real Madrid and PSG dressing rooms many players feel that “it’s gonna be Madrid”.
